This book has enraptured me in a way that’s hard to describe. Each phase of the book takes the level of chaos just that much farther until it’s a train that can’t be stopped. Alicia’s characters are well developed and it feels as though you should be able to look up music videos and concert recordings from Psychosomatic Slaughter, have their posters on your walls, and get tickets for their shows. Even the characters not at the forefront are well written feel whole, as though you could pass them on the street. The book, much like chaos itself, is unpredictable. There are unhinged, horrifying, and disgusting acts in this book. Yet it’s impossible to put down as we explore the lives of two very different best friends and their choice to form a band. Rock and roll, drugs, passion, obsession, and the occult culminate this book into a gut wrenching tear jerking horror. I have NEVER had such a visceral reaction to a book. I have read many books and been filled with fear, disgust, loathing, sadness. Nothing has ever made me gag during reading or cry from terror and heartbreak at the some time. Until I read Psychosomatic Slaughter. Alicia has poured her passion for horror, rock and roll, and writing into this novel and it pays off. If you want something that is visceral, terrifying, and wild this is the one for you.

All I can say is wow! Alicia’s debut book does not fail to impress. I honestly couldn’t put the book down.
The story of Psychosomatic Slaughter is haunting. Alicia’s descriptions of certain scenes left me with literal goosebumps. If this is any pre-cursor of what her future writing adventures will be, I’m super excited to read whatever she has next. Psychosomatic Slaughter does not disappoint, especially if you’re an avid lover of anything 80’s metal. Thank you for this wonderful literary piece Alicia!!

So I am an admitted horrible reader. If a book does not grab me in the first 10 pages, I bale. I need something that keeps me coming back, page after page, chapter after chapter. I am a sci-fi/fantasy junkie but this one intrigued me as I am a fan of Mr. King as well.
Well it delivered from front to back! Grabs you from go, keeps you wanting more, descriptive and detailed but not complicated! I true home run for the genre. Thanks Alicia, cannot wait for your next one!
